The first users have logged on to the EC2B-application
We are happy to announce that the first version of the digital mobility service EC2B has now been launched. In the beginning of March, the first users downloaded and started using the EC2B-app for Iphone and Android. Tenants in Riksbyggen’s Brf Viva in Gothenburg are first to try it out. Now, they can get access to all the mobility services that are included in their accommodation through one single app: at the moment bike sharing from GoRide and car sharing from Sunfleet. Through a unique collaboration with public transport operator Västtrafik, they also have the opportunity to buy public transport tickets from Västtrafik directly in the app, through a digital retail channel.
-We believe it is possible to spur sustainable travel if it is easy to combine different means of transport. This is why we are very happy that our tickets in this pilot are available together with other means of transport within one single service. We want to be present where our customers are, and sometimes that means in other applications than our own, as in this case, says Marita Albrektson, project leader at Västtrafik.
A digital public transport ticket is generated directly in the EC2B-application. The ticket is valid onboard all of Västtrafik’s buses, trams, ferries and trains.
-We are very happy to have reached this milestone and that we together with our partner SmartResenär for the first time in Sweden have created this digital integration against public transport, says Björn Wendle, CEO of EC2B Mobility AB.
The users also have access to GoRides newly developed system for booking of shared e-bikes directly through the EC2B app. But the EC2B service is not only the mobile application. As part of the EC2B concept, tenants are offered a counselling session with a mobility expert upon moving into their new apartment, with individually tailored information about sustainable transport options that suit their needs. Tenants are also invited to mobility gettogethers where the mobility services are introduced. The opportunity to get support to download the app, test the shared e-bikes, and learn how to book and unlock the carsharing vehicles has been highly appreciated among tenants.
-The EC2B service should make it easy and attractive to live without a private car, and encourage more sustainable travel, says Björn Wendle.
The development of EC2B in Brf Viva is part of the EU-funded IRIS project, where innovative solutions within mobility, energy and ICT are developed and tested. The integration against Västtrafik has been made with support from the Swedish innovation agency Vinnova.
