Monitoring and evaluation

    Monitoring and evaluation

We have extensive experience in monitoring and evaluating transport projects not only in Sweden but also in Europe. For example, we were part of the team that monitored and evaluated the impacts of the Stockholm congestion charging trial.

    Mobility Management

We are particularly experienced in the evaluation and monitoring of mobility management (MM) projects. We have developed several mobility management evaluation tools such as Swedish SUMO, EU MaxSumo and MaxEva (an interactive database in which the results from MM projects are gathered), for which we regularly run courses. We also monitor and evaluate travel plans, car sharing and carpooling programmes and MM campaigns such as “test travellers” and “healthy cyclists”.

    Strategies and Plans

We have helped several Swedish local authorities with their monitoring and impact assessments, both in evaluating the impacts of the measures they actually implemented, and monitoring and measuring their success in achieving their aims and objectives. This includes monitoring and impact studies for LundaMaTs I, II and III (The City of Lund’s transport strategy) as well as evaluating the impact of transport strategies in other local authorities.

    Traffic safety

We have strong background in traffic safety, and this includes evaluation of a variety of road safety projects and measures.

    SMARTSET

Co-funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme (IEE) of the European Union, SMARTSET was a three year project finished in May 2016. It aimed to develop and showcase how freight transport in European cities and regions can be made more energy-efficient and sustainable by a better use of freight terminals. Trivector was leader of evaluation in this project, and we developed tailor-made process and impact evaluation to support the SMARTSET sites in the local evaluations. For further information please contact Anna Clark, +46 10 456 56 23, or visit the SMARTSET website.

    Road pricing in Stockholm (trial)

A trial congestion charging scheme was put in place before the establishment of the permanent scheme was implemented in 2007, after a referendum was held. Trivector was involved in designing the overall strategy and plan for the evaluation of the trial congestion charging scheme. We were the leader for implementing a major travel survey (77 000 respondents) in greater Stockholm before and after the implementation of the charge, and contributed to conclusions for the implementation of a permanent charge. Evaluation of new speed limits in urban areas

The impacts of changes in speeds limits were evaluated in before and after studies in several Swedish local authorities, following the introduction of changes in 2007. The project was financed by the Swedish Road Administration. For more information, please contact Hanna Wennberg, +46 10 456 56 08.
